Hi I’m Chesarae. Recently my friend Trix (who originally was going to take this position found out she was pregnant! Congratulations to her) and to me because now I am the charities manager for Charisma+2.
Charisma+2 is involved in a great deal of charity work for a variety of organizations such as non-Pareil Institute, Operation Supply Drop, Gamer’s Outreach, Child’s Play, SPCA, Genesis Women’s Shelter, and The Society of Women Who Love Shoes.
For personal charities, I give orphans in the Philippines clothes. I do it because for a graduation present from high school, my grandparents paid for a vacation for my family to go to the Philippines. I was just turning 18 and had just finished grade school, I didn’t have a care in the world… Until I visited my parents’ hometown of Iriga City. It’s a very poor town and was sad to see the little pockets of poverty as we drove by. My grandmother took me with her to an orphanage to give out the clothes I had donated. When we got there I was greeted by a young girl with no shoes, maybe 4 years old, she was left at a bus stop when she was even younger than that and she greeted me with a smile and called me Até, which means older sister. My heart sank. All I wanted to do was hug her and that’s when my eyes really opened. In that moment I realized how privileged I am to have the things that I have. I walked around the orphanage grounds and really took in the experience so I could remember that moment. From then on, I started to send any of my old clothes to the orphanages in the Philippines.
Other charity work I do includes walks for Aids Research and helping the high number of homeless here in Portland.
SO THAT’S ME. WHAT ABOUT YOU?
What is your favorite charity? Let me know and send some pictures to Chesarae@CharismaPlus2.com ! I look forward to hearing from you.

History of Events:
As mentioned before, one of our favorite charities is Operation Supply Drop which on a regular basis builds video game care packages for troops deployed in High Threat areas overseas. After we first started sending OSD some games and swag for these care packages, we decided that we should have a fund raiser and had fun doing so. We had a Jersey Shore themed party hosted at Motus Digital motion capture services and had soldiers drive in from forts as far as 9 hours away, tourneys thanks to NetversusPlay and GameStop with awesome donations for a silent auction from Valve, Bethesda, Gearbox, 2K, and of course always supportive AMD. Since then, C+2 has formed an on-going alliance to help OSD in their reaching their goals. Click on the photos to discover a lot more about the C+2 fund raiser and stay tuned for more OSD updates on this page.

On Thursday January 12th, Yvonna with Gamer’s Outreach is dedicating a “GO Kart” which is a mobile, height adjustable gaming console for vets:
In December, A group of C+2 models (pictured below)including Jordan, Amanda, Trix, Kat, and Claire did an online fund raiser for Gamer’s Outreach that was presented by Kona’s Korner!
More Operation Supply Drop video game supply drops!
We made this one with the girls in mind. This drop callsign “Warmaiden” (in honor of Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim) went to the female medics at one of the high risk areas since we figured along with games, they could probably use a bit of feminine energy (like fuzzy socks, bath and body items, Nutella, and stuffed animals around there

Another and huge favorite charity for C+2 is the Non-Pareil Institute that provides technical training to adults in the autism spectrum. Gary Moore has put together a simply phenomenal concept that has grown exponentially since we first met them. The NPI crew put together a halloween map for Valve’s Team Fortress 2, just to mention a teeny bit of the awesome things they do. Please look into NPI more, you will not regret it and they can always use your support. Here are a few videos of the students (they call Crew).
We first became aware of NPI and their awesome organization back in ’09 and made a quick introduction to our viewers here. Since then, we have seen NPI grow not only in numbers but fantastic support and donations. Check out what Razer did below. It was a year ago in January that our Official Blogger Mary wrote about some of the impressive work they do.
Over the Summer ’11, C+2 put together a Poker Tournament to benefit Child’s Play! Find out more about the event and the girls by clicking the image below:

” I’d like to take this opportunity to announce that Chesarae is taking over the Charities department at Charisma+2. Upon this decision, I realized how much of what we do is not documented because to be honest, I have barely had the time to do the charities much less document them. Other work we do, for instance with the Battered Women and Children’s shelters obviously cannot show images, but we like to donate time, money, and clothes to great charities like Gensis Women’s Shelter. In addition, on a monthly basis we donate to The Society of Women Who Love Shoes which gathers shoes (and other needs) for shelter like Gensis Women’s Shelter who have women in need. For the longest time, I believed I should just do these things without making them public. Recently, I have seen how making them public raises awareness and encourages others to give also. If you are doing charity work in your area, Please drop a line to Chesarae@CharismaPlus2.com with an explanation and images! We would love to spread the awareness in your area as well.”
